UATV subscriptions no longer require credit cards

UATV Subscription Re-activation

• Subscriptions are once again available for purchase & renewal

• Instead of credit/debit cards, we now use e-Check payments going directly bank-to-bank

• e-Checks are much more reliable, but are slower than card payments

• Currently only available to holders of USA checking/savings accounts

• Register for e-Check payments on account->payments page—bank account must be verified before payments can be made

• Verification is done via penny-testing—two amounts less than a dollar are deposited and then withdrawn from the subscriber’s bank account, creating a record which the user can see and enter on UATV

• Subscribing/renewing a subscription with a verified account is instantaneous—we deliver the subscription even before receiving the payment. In the rare case that the payment should fail the subscription is temporarily suspended until the situation can be rectified.

• The subscription paywall has been turned off throughout April, but is being turned back on tomorrow

• Superchats are not ready yet, but will be within a week

• Superchats will be available for use upon payment completion, rather than immediately like subscriptions

• Some US banks do not do e-Checks. In this case you will need to use a credit card when that system is up again.
